Simi Valley's only private golf course, Wood Ranch Golf Club is a Ted Robinson design situated in the shadows of the Santa Susana Mountains. Located near the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, the immaculately conditioned golf course is a links-style layout designed to emulate features of the great courses of Scotland. The undulating fairways, framed by towering trees, lead to large bentgrass greens. Along the way are deep pot bunkers and several lakes and streams to make this 6,952-yard layout both challenging and enjoyable. Opened in 1985, the course has five sets of tees. In addition, Wood Ranch Golf Club, whose members include business leaders, celebrities and athletes, has a magnificent 30,000-square foot clubhouse capable of hosting events from large weddings to corporate outings. The clubhouse includes a golf shop, formal dining room and men's and women's locker rooms with Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Wood Ranch Golf Club's practice facilities are also first-rate and include a grass driving range, practice bunker as well as chipping and putting greens.
